Design

Problem-solving design by industry experts.

A crucial part of Dura Manufacturing’s success is its ability to marry quality manufacturing with award-winning creative design. Our parent company, Dura Ltd, has always been at the cutting edge of automotive workshop design – it’s the No.1 brand for workshop furniture. The same talented design team works on manufacturing projects to offer quality and experience. Designers use the latest CAD, and can even draw on Dura Ltd’s facilities for photoreal 3D rendering using 3D Studio Max.

Cutting-edge technology for the perfect cut.

We have the latest fibre laser with a loading tower. The Amada ENSIS self-loads and unloads, meaning 24/7 lights out for maximum efficiency. It can cut sheet metal up to 25mm thick. In addition, our stand-alone flatbed laser is ideal for lower volumes and prototyping.

We are able to laser cut tube too. A full laser tube cutting facility loads tube of virtually any shape (up to 6m long) for accurate, intricate work.

Non-stop capabilities.

With two CNC punch press machines and laser cutting capacity, the fully automated Amada EMZ punch press is tower-fed and capable of continual 24hr working. It can handle material up to 6mm thick and a sheet size of up to 3.0 x 1.5m.

The largest panel folder in mainland UK.

With two Amada 8-axis press brakes and two Salvagnini panel folding machines, Dura has considerable sheet metal bending facilities. The Salvagnini P4EX panel folder is the largest in mainland UK and means sophisticated bends, large panels, repeated accuracy and fast production times are not a problem. The Salvagnini P2 offers similar advantages for smaller panels. In addition to sheet bending, Dura has in-house CNC tube bending facilities up to 3mm material thickness.

A combination of craftsmanship and machine capability.

The experienced welding team can undertake MIG, TIG, and spot welding. We also have four Pemserter machines to insert a wide range of fasteners, studs and pins.

A conveyorised powder-coating facility delivers ultimate painting flexibility. Recently installed, this cutting-edge facility offers an impressive capacity within a fast, streamlined system. The line includes a precision-controlled three-stage pre-treatment and computer-controlled spraying with optical sensors. Our expertise in powder coating application earned Dura the coveted ServiceFirst™ Associate status by AkzoNobel, the world’s largest paint manufacturer, and the UK’s first certificate for ICAN (Industrial Coatings Applicator Network) accreditation from Axalta part of the Dupont Group.

Our assembly team has experience building products from lawnmowers and barbecues to storage cabinets and toolboxes. we ensure you receive a consistently high standard while managing the purchase of bought-in components on your behalf as part of a streamlined assembly process.
